Executive Director Program Delivery – IPAA Victoria (JN -012025-39279) Melbourne CBD, Melbourne, Australia Lead the Learning & Development and Events function @ IPAA Victoria A high profile executive role reporting to the CEO Supportive and hybrid working environment The Institute of Public Administration Australia (Victoria Division) is the peak professional organisation for the Victorian public purpose sector. The public purpose sector plays a critical role in delivering for Victorian communities. IPAA Victoria supports this work by providing platforms for public purpose sector professionals and organisations to connect, network, collaborate, learn and problem solve. IPAA Victoria is a thought leader on the evolution of the public purpose sector and public expectations in a time of rapid technological, social and other changes. The organisation designs and delivers innovative professional development programs, events, and thought leadership workshops, it administers awards and provides high-level networking opportunities, while instilling the values of leadership, innovation, integrity, connection, excellence and inclusivity. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Executive Director Program Delivery will be a key executive member of the organisation and be responsible for leading the design and delivery of professional development programs and events that elevate public administration as a profession. This includes managing an annual calendar of flagship awards, events, and both public and customized professional development programs in collaboration with IPAA’s Corporate partners. The role oversees the Learning and Development and Events management functions, ensuring the commercial viability of these programs while fostering innovation and engagement with members. In addition to supporting the CEO and COO, the ED Program Delivery works closely with the Manager of Marketing and Communication to promote IPAA’s services effectively across all channels. This role collaborates with Member Engagement and Marketing teams to understand member needs, identify sponsorship opportunities, and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders such as the IPAA Victoria Board, Advisory Committees, Organisational members, Corporate partners, and senior public sector stakeholders. To be considered, you will be an exceptional people leader with a proven track record in program and project management, process design, and improvement. While beneficial to have member-based organisation experience and familiarity with the broader public sector, it is not mandatory. A proven ability to manage complex stakeholders, including at Board level, and a strong commercial mindset are essential. You will possess exceptional interpersonal, consultative, and external stakeholder management skills and also have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities and proven experience in delivering innovative solutions.
