Executive Manager Compliance Advisory Do work that matters: Retail Banking Services (RBS) is the public face of CommBank, delivering a seamless banking experience for the future, to our 10 million + personal and small business customers. RBS product Domains will manufacture the full suite of retail products including deposit accounts, home loans and credit cards. RBS distribution Domains will provide face-to-face customer service through the Branch network, Customer Contact Centres and digitally through Netbank and the CommBank App. RBS distribution Domains will distribute both proprietary product (home loans, deposit accounts and credit cards) and 3rd party product (general insurance, life insurance and car sales). The RBS Domains are also responsible for digital spaces including web and app services, customer communications, CBA customer recognition programs such as CommBank Yello, strategic relationships such as More and Amber, and Open Banking. RBS Risk Management, including Compliance, also supports x15 with a range of ventures. See yourself in the team: The purpose of the role is to lead the RBS Compliance Advisory team which provides specialised advice to your Domain(s) (line of business team) to ensure our retail products and services are provided in compliance with all financial services and other applicable laws and regulatory requirements. Your day could look like but not limited to: Inspire team of compliance advisers to be pro-actively engaged with business teams and providing high quality advice to achieve compliance outcomes and mitigate risk. Provide compliance insight into Domain Risk Forums, compliance advice, and GM briefings. Apply regulatory knowledge to new products and distribution avenues supporting CBA with its strategic objectives. Oversee advice provided by team members and act as escalation point for complex matters. Provide oversight, insight, guidance and motivation to other Teams in RBS Compliance (Regulatory Engagement, Assurance and BankWest). Build effective partnerships with colleagues across business teams, Risk and Compliance, and Group Compliance. Lead, manage, coach and develop your function. Actively and effectively develop your direct and indirect reports. What will you need to succeed in this role? The successful candidate will have substantial knowledge of compliance, financial services regulation and retail banking products and distribution. The appropriate candidate will also have experience in providing compliance advice to business teams including in relation to products and services, distribution processes, delivering, managing and remediating issues and implementing regulatory change. They will also have the ability to build strong relationships, and have strong stakeholder engagement skills, including experience in dealing with senior management. It’s also desirable if you have: Financial Services industry, regulation knowledge gained either in Australia, or in major overseas markets. Experience in compliance roles, including role(s) with a focus on developing compliance frameworks. Strong understanding of different regulatory environments including APRA prudential requirements, ASIC requirements and requirements from other key domestic or international regulators (such as ACMA). Strong understanding of compliance and compliance management principles, frameworks and generally accepted industry practices. Broad experience and expertise enabling you to navigate emerging compliance issues as required by your relevant Domain(s) beyond financial services laws, including, for example, privacy, Spam Act, and environment and social requirements.
