About our team There are current vacancies in several sections: Financial Accounting and Assets Section: Responsible for meeting the Department's statutory financial reporting and asset accounting requirements. Treasury and Banking Section: Manages functions including payment runs, managing appropriations, managing bank accounts, and oversight of petty cash practices. Credit Cards Section: Responsible for effective management of the department's credit cards, developing policies, and ensuring compliance. Our ideal candidate For the Financial Accounting and Assets Team: Relevant financial management experience of at least two years, preferably in financial accounting or asset reporting/management roles. Well-developed communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work in a team and maintain stakeholder relationships. Capacity to deliver quality work within agreed timeframes. Proficiency in the use of Work, SAP (or similar large financial system), Excel, and Business Intelligence (or similar) reporting suites. For the Treasury and Banking Team: Knowledge of the Australian Government financial framework and financial reporting requirements is desirable but not essential. Relevant financial or accounting experience and tertiary qualifications are highly desirable. Member of a professional accounting association (CPA/CAANZ), or progress towards, is desirable but not essential. Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills. High-level oral and written communication skills. Experience with SAP, or similar financial systems. For the Payments and Credit Card Team: Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks within deadlines. Analytical thinking in solving complex queries. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and build collaborative partnerships with stakeholders. Strong communication skills. Finance experience. Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulatory, and compliance frameworks. Duties and responsibilities For the Financial Accounting and Assets Team: Assist with coordination of the annual stock take, impairment review, and external valuation. Support quality assurance processes and preparation of related documentation. Develop working relationships with colleagues and internal stakeholders. Contribute to maintenance and improvement of asset management processes. Assist with drafting reports and written communications. Support preparation of annual asset reporting including reconciliations and analysis. Other ad-hoc duties. For the Treasury and Banking Team: Assist with day-to-day operations of the Banking Unit. Manage help desk and bank portal requirements. Develop and maintain positive stakeholder relationships. Assist in the preparation of correspondence and respond to emails. Other ad-hoc duties. For the Payments and Credit Card Team: Process credit card disputes and personal expenditure. Perform regular quality assurance and statement aging activity. Process new credit card applications and cancellations. Run various reports for credit card compliance review. Assist in preparing departmental submissions and reports. Provide policy and technical advice on credit card matters. Other ad-hoc duties.
