What you’ll contribute to: An exciting opportunity has become available for a General Manager – Asset Services to deliver excellence at a strategic and operational level with the Gold Coast Airport team. This is a permanent full-time position that would suit a senior leader with a depth of experience in managing a large-scale dynamic facility which includes the complexity of influencing diverse stakeholder groups to deliver. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), and working collaboratively with QAL’s Regional Airports, the General Manager Asset Services is responsible for ensuring that asset management at GCA is delivered in a proactive, safe, compliant, efficient and structured manner and supports the relevant QAL value drivers, particularly Operational Excellence, Customer Experience, Social Responsibility and Shareholder Value. The successful incumbent will drive business excellence through positively guiding and coaching the Asset Services team to achieve the Gold Coast Airport’s assets strategy. How will you make an impact? With a strong track record of project delivery, you will bring your in-depth leadership experience, coupled with specialist knowledge in relevant legislation to ensure our assets have the necessary resilience, reliability and efficiency to meet our goals. You will be someone who adopts a dynamic and innovative approach to asset management, particularly as our company continues our focus on efficiency and value creation from all our assets. We foresee that the evolution of asset management will very much be enabled by technology and so your strategic adeptness and ability to demonstrate strong capability with a forward-thinking mindset will be very desirable. Consistently calm under pressure whilst maintaining focus, you will achieve success through excellent collaboration as you partner with the business to ensure Gold Coast Airports Assets deliver for our customers and stakeholders. In this dynamic and challenging operational environment your ability to work on complex problems and use senior level execution skills to deliver QAL’s Strategic Asset Management plan (SAMP) with and through others is a key deliverable. Additionally, the role requires extensive experience in contractor management to ensure our facilities are managed optimally and always with safety front of mind. Excellent communication skills, commercial and financial acumen are also a must. Key deliverables / responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide strategic direction and leadership to deliver QAL’s Strategic Asset Management plan (SAMP) based on the principles defined in ISO 55001 for GCA. Prepare and ensure investment strategies (capex or opex) balance sustainable performance/lifecycle costs with performance requirements of stakeholders. Deliver clear alignment between investment decisions and risk management consequences from an asset resilience/performance perspective. Prepare and manage the Asset Service’s budget. Guide and develop the Asset Services team fostering a positive inclusive and high performance culture. Deliver detailed asset management & risk management plans for critical assets and Asset Services team leadership & culture. Lead the exploration and assessment of innovation for assets improvements to meet QAL’s strategic objectives. What we offer you?
