About the Pharmacy Department: The Pharmacy Department operates across five campuses and has a strong vision to deliver exceptional, evidence-based care to our patients – with a clear focus on research, medication safety and clinical excellence. The department comprises over 100 pharmacists and 30 technicians to provide clinical, operational, quality and informatics services with a strong focus on workforce culture and commitment to professional development. We are currently undergoing a period of expansion which provides unique opportunities for specialisation appealing to those applicants wishing to challenge themselves and advance practice including pharmacist and technician advanced-scope roles, collaborative multidisciplinary programs and services, medicine stewardship and virtual care. About the Role: A full-time opportunity exists for a Grade 1 Clinical Pharmacist to join the team at Northern Health. This role will require work over 10 days (80 hours) per fortnight - Monday to Friday at the Northern Hospital with potential to work at other sites of Northern Health as required. The Clinical Pharmacist has responsibility for the provision of clinical pharmacy services across Northern Health’s acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services. They will ensure excellence in client care, evidence-based practice, and service improvement and risk management. The Clinical Pharmacist is primarily responsible for the pharmaceutical review of medications prescribed at Northern Health in accordance with all relevant legislative, PBS, practice standards and accreditation requirements. The pharmacist will report to and work closely with their line manager to monitor, evaluate and develop their service area.
