About the Role: The Group Manager Commercial and Strategy reports to and works closely with the Head of Commercial to deliver the best-in-class, enterprise-level commercial management and strategic capabilities and outcomes for the vertically integrated Redland enterprise. The role manages devising and delivery of commercial imperatives and enterprise strategy for Redland. The Group Manager Commercial and Strategy acts as the Head of Commercial’s 2IC and also as delegate in that person’s absence. Primary Responsibilities: Leadership & Management Build, train, lead and mentor Commercial and Strategy Team members to achieve high performance. Establish and maintain a culture of commercial excellence. Identify and develop talent for the long-term success of Redland. Develop, implement and deliver commercial strategies to maximise Redland’s commercial success. Lead and initiate operational, commercial and strategic analysis to identify opportunities for continuous growth and improvement. Drive the Commercial and Strategy Team to build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, growers and other relevant stakeholders. Develop and measure commercial performance to identify efficiency improvements and increased profit opportunities. Cross-functional collaboration Work closely with Head of Production and Head of Processing and their direct reports to deliver on whole of business commercial and strategic goals. Liaise and work closely with Redland’s Finance Team to improve commercial and strategic outcomes. Pressure test and settle Redland strategies with consultation and input from Finance, Marketing, Legal, and Business Intelligence Teams. Redland market analysis Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape. Performance monitoring Track and report on Redland’s commercial and strategic performance and develop improvement initiatives and strategies to improve Redland’s fiscal performance. Budget Management Manage the commercial and strategy budget, ensuring cost-effective operations. Compliance Ensure all commercial and strategic activities comply with relevant laws and regulations. Experience & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Marketing, Agriculture or a related field, or excellent operational and management experience with MBA qualifications. Minimum 5 to 7 years proven experience in a senior/high-performing commercial and strategic management role within an industry relevant to the role. High quality leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication and negotiation abilities. Strong ability to assess and improve operational performance.
