Head of Department - Senior Schooling - Centenary State High School Education (Organisation site)Metropolitan South Region, School and Regional Operations and Performance Division An opportunity exists for a temporary full-time acting Head of Department Senior Schooling. We are seeking a passionate individual who would like to work with the school's Leadership Team.As Senior Schooling HOD, the successful candidate will inspire a positive learning culture through high expectations. Manage RTO operations, ensuring compliance. Coordinate with Trade Training Centre Management on Certificate courses. Ensure compliance with VET guidelines. Collaborate with the Deputy Principal Senior Schooling to quality assure general and applied subjects. Assist to coordinate external assessments. Organize AARA and coordinate assessment adjustments. Plan Senior Pathways and Mentoring programs. Oversee Career Education short courses. Monitor, track, and analyse data (QCE tracking) to inform direction and intervene for at-risk students. About the School Centenary State High School is a high quality state high school located in Brisbane's leafy, western suburb of Jindalee. Opened in 1999, the school has over 1750 students and services the suburbs of Jindalee, Sinnamon Park, Mt Ommaney, Westlake, Middle Park, Jamboree Heights, Riverhills, Sumner, and sections of Darra and Seventeen Mile Rocks. About the Role You will have responsibility for leading the following activities and delivery of the following key tasks: Lead the school department to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focused on providing quality learning outcomes for all students. Embed socially just practices in daily school life. Set high standards for student and staff performance. Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development. Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups. Be futures-oriented and strategic. Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling especially in relation to students and staff within the school department. Manage the human, financial, facilities, and curriculum resources of the school department to achieve goals.
