Mackay State High School is seeking an exceptional educational leader to take on the role of Head of Department - Senior School. This pivotal position will oversee the academic achievement, QCE attainment, pathways, and engagement of Year 11-12 students, ensuring they are equipped for success in Year 12, ATAR, VET, & employment pathways. This is a temporary full-time position until 12 December 2025, unless otherwise determined.About Us Mackay State High School welcomed its first cohort of students on 1st January 1912. It was one of the first state high schools opened in Queensland and recognized the growth that was taking place in Mackay and the Pioneer Valley. Since that time, it has continued to develop with the town, establishing a positive and rich reputation. Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups. Be futures-oriented and strategic. Understand the legislation and policies that impact schooling, especially in relation to students and staff within the school department.
