About Blackwater North State School Blackwater is situated approximately 200km west of Rockhampton and 55km from the beautiful Blackdown Tableland. It is predominantly a coal mining town with six coal mines operating in the district. It has a core population of around 5,000 people. Blackwater North State School was opened in 1979 because of new mines opening and older mines expanding. This brought many new families to the town. The student population then was 181. Today the school population is above 400 students and the school boasts many new facilities. We take pride in our school and the quality education we endeavor to offer our students. About the Role Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Manage and coordinate the delivery of high-quality advice and support provided by the Special Education Program and/or Early Childhood Development Program. Lead and manage the Special Education Program and/or Early Childhood Development Program to provide advice to classroom teachers for students with disability as needed. Provide high-quality advice to the school leadership team, classroom teachers, and other school staff to develop, plan, and implement effective reasonable adjustments for students with disability. Coordinate and provide intensive targeted teaching for students requiring intervention. Please refer to the attached role description for any mandatory requirements for this position.
