You will lead and manage the scoping, designing and creation of world class ICT and digital capabilities across one of Defence's key ICT programs, integrating solutions to realise positive capability outcomes. You will lead a team, define, assess and evaluate project performance against agreed plans and the implementing strategies in order to achieve project capability realisation outcomes. Positions are varied and ideal for a project manager who has proven successful experience specialising in overseeing and managing transformational projects and is looking to take the next step in their career. This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. About our Team The Defence Digital Group (DDG) operates to generate and sustain digital capabilities and effects in order to defend Australia and its national interests. Its vision is a secure, integrated and scalable information and communications environment able to fight and win in the digital age. Digital Capability Division uses established frameworks to develop, adapt and extend digital capabilities. We provide execution of the Chief Information Officer's Capability Manager responsibilities across the capability lifecycle. We employ a product lifecycle approach to create digital value by supporting Defence technology users with continuous improvement of fit for purpose digital products and solutions. We: Sponsor and plan all new integrated investment program (IIP) project activities; Provide specialist advice to define capability requirements, conduct planning, monitoring and controlling of products across the Defence Capability Life Cycle; Lead and prepare the development of timely and high quality agendum, issues papers, minutes for capability committees; ministerial and cabinet submissions relating to capability development; Deliver accurate and informative briefings and reports to senior Defence leaders to assist in their decision-making; Lead and manage end-to-end project lifecycles, ensuring delivery on time and within budget; Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scopes, goals, and deliverables; Develop detailed project plans, track progress, and proactively identify and mitigate risks; Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence in project management practices; Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and milestones; Lead, mentor and guide project teams, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment. Our Ideal Candidate Key attributes we are looking for: Understanding of Australia's strategic policy, legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence's mission and policy requirements; Knowledge of Defence capability and the One Defence Capability System (ODCS); Prove successful extensive experience in leading complex projects with tight deadlines in critical industries or the Commonwealth; Proven successful leadership and experience mentoring team members to achieve continuous improvement; Ability to use initiative, work flexibly and autonomously with little supervision, accurate completion of work within timeframes; Proven successful experience leading projects in one or more of the following ICT streams: EUC, applications and/or Data management; ICT platform and network connectivity and/or cloud; ICT network security and segmentation related (highly desirable); Tertiary Qualification in Information Technology and Security and/or Business or equivalent industry experience (desirable); Certificates in Project Management (desirable); and Understanding of Defence Engineering Process - Technical Regulatory Framework (TRF) or Technical Assurance Framework (TAF) (desirable). #J-18808-Ljbffr
