Job Description: ICT Network Administrator Contract Duration: 12 months, with the possibility of a 6-month extension Location: Canberra Citizenship Requirement: Australian Citizenship required Role Overview: We are seeking an ICT Support Specialist to join our team in Canberra. This role involves providing a range of ICT support services for a significant mission. The successful candidate will be part of a dedicated ICT team responsible for maintaining and enhancing various ICT services. Key Responsibilities: Ensure the availability, reliability, and scalability of the corporate network to meet business demands. Respond to minor faults, complaints, audits, investigations, and incident reports as requested. Install or remove hardware and associated connections using supplied installation instructions and tools. Assist in fault finding and problem resolution concerning the installation of hardware and/or software. Document system configurations and ensure current documentation is up to date after modifications or installations. Maintain network hardware and software assets registry. Assist in the implementation of site structured cabling projects. Communicate effectively on technical and non-technical matters at team and individual levels. Adhere to the organization's Code of Conduct, Health, Safety and Environment procedures, and Diversity initiatives. Perform other duties as directed. Required Competencies: Teamwork and Collaboration: Proactively seeks and considers the ideas and opinions of others to help form decisions, plans, or actions. Influence and Communication: Presents ideas by providing factual information supported by data, examples, and illustrations. Resource Management/Leadership: Provides instruction and assists other staff in completing allocated tasks and activities. Selection Criteria: Essential: Demonstrated network administration experience. Knowledge of fundamental network principles. Ability to gain knowledge in CISCO and CISCO IOS. Ability to interpret, apply, and update technical documentation and drawings. Ability to work effectively independently or as part of a diverse multi-skilled team. Ability to exercise sound judgment and act on initiative in routine matters and under operational pressure. Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical information. Demonstrated experience in providing quality customer service. Valid driver's license. Desirable: Experience with managed switches or firewalls. Ability to use CAD programs. Base cabling license. Knowledge of system administration in Windows environments. Knowledge, skills, or experience with cyber security disciplines. Capability of accessing and working at heights and in confined spaces.
