The Risk Advisor - Information Technology is a senior role that sits within the Enterprise Risk Management team (2nd LoD) and reports through to the Head of Technology & Cybersecurity Risk. It will play an influential role in working with technology leaders to help navigate the rapidly evolving technology landscape through making intelligent risk-based decisions whilst ensuring that technology systems, processes, and data remain secure, compliant, and aligned with best practices. Key Responsibilities will include: Lead and provide strategic IT risk oversight and advisory services across the organization. Assess, manage, and mitigate IT risks related to architecture, infrastructure, applications, data management, model development, governance & validation third-party vendors, and emerging technologies. Collaborate with senior stakeholders and technology teams to ensure risk-smart decision-making while balancing needs of the business, customer and regulatory requirements. Monitor and review the effectiveness of existing IT risk controls, making recommendations for improvements based on industry best practices. Provide thought leadership on emerging risks in technology, data security, and regulatory compliance, advising on solutions to proactively address challenges. Support the development and implementation of risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures across the IT domain. Foster a culture of risk awareness by educating and mentoring colleagues on best practices in IT risk management. Lead risk assessments for new technology initiatives, ensuring that risk is identified and addressed early in the process. Contribute to the organization’s broader risk management goals, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement. Candidate Experience Degree qualified with post graduate qualifications preferred, with a minimum of five years’ experience in Information Technology Risk Management. Strong working knowledge of regulatory frameworks related to risk and information security (e.g., CPS234, CPS230). A deep understanding of information security and technology best practice standards and guidelines (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, iTIL). Solid knowledge of superannuation and investment solutions along with cloud computing (e.g., AWS, ServiceNow). Key to your success will be your ability to build deep working relationships, engage and challenge whilst critically identifying problems and seeing them through to resolution.
