What you'll do: We have an exciting and newly created opportunity as an Injury & Claims Management Lead to join our Safety, Health & Wellbeing Team (SH&W). Reporting to the Injury & Wellbeing Manager, you will play a key role in supporting implementation of best practice Injury and Workers Compensation Claims Management processes, while ensuring compliance with legislative and Self-Insurance requirements. The role will also be a key driver in overseeing Injury Prevention Strategies to address organizational risk factors, such as manual handling and psychosocial risk, while simultaneously driving outcomes to reduce the severity, duration and frequency of complex injuries and Workers Compensation Claims. Other key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Providing strategic guidance and expertise to business units regarding Complex Workers Compensation claims and injury management (for both work-related and personal conditions). Providing specialist technical advice on Claims Management and RTW strategies to Health Division stakeholders to drive continuous improvement opportunities in injury management. Directing and influencing claims management strategies that minimize financial exposure and deliver lower premiums and performance rates. Supporting implementation of an Injury Management System compliant to legislative and self-insurance requirements. Coaching, influencing and building leadership capability to achieve timely rehabilitation of injured team members and a reduction in Workers Compensation Claim costs. Analyse incidents and data and to identify trends and themes to support a risk-based SH&W strategic direction. Coach safe behaviours, set standards, and deliver a consistent message of accountability, centred on a risk-based approach. What you'll bring: Proven experience in recent injury and claims management experience within a medium to large commercial enterprise - preferably within a Self-Insurance setting and across a National Portfolio. Demonstrated Workers Compensation technical and legislative expertise. High level of interpersonal, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills. Proven experience using computerised claims and injury management information systems including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Return to Work Coordinator qualifications (IV preferred). Commitment to the delivery of excellent customer service for both internal and external stakeholders. Tertiary qualification in Allied Health or Mental Health First Aid accreditation would be highly desirable. Why us?
