The Interface and Operational Readiness Coordinator is responsible for ensuring effective coordination and readiness of project wide deliverables inclusive of those required in advance of contractual milestones and relative to various project elements, systems, and stakeholder requirements. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the seamless integration of road & rail network configuration changes to facilitate the smooth handover to Operators and Maintainers. The incumbent will work closely with various teams and returned works owners to ensure that all interfaces are identified, managed, and resolved in a timely manner. This includes Quality & Completions, Asset Allocation, Works Readiness and wider project teams. Additionally, the Interface and Operational Readiness Coordinator will play a key role in coordinating and overseeing the implementation of operational readiness plans, ensuring that all necessary processes, procedures, and resources are in place to facilitate efficient project handover and operational success. Project Description Inland Rail is transforming how goods are moved around Australia, connecting Melbourne and Brisbane via regional Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. This 1,700km fast freight backbone will complete our national freight network – better connecting producers to markets and creating new opportunities for regional businesses, industries and communities.The Beveridge to Albury (B2A) project is the Victorian portion of the program undertaken along approximately 305 kms of existing northeast rail corridor between Beveridge and Albury. B2A is staged in two tranches. Tranche 1 includes enhancement works across four sites and corridor wide works.Tranche 2 works will be delivered by John Holland and includes adjustment of track alignments, the provision of new road overbridges and station modifications to enable the safe operation of double-stack freight trains across eight B2A project sites between Wandong and Benalla. Responsibilities of the role include / What you will do; Overall responsibility for the role on this high-profile major project includes: Support the Interface Manager and general interface team in deliverables – spanning across Quality, Completions, Interface and Operational Readiness and wider project teams. Track and monitor progress of Operational Readiness activities, identifying any issues or delays and implementing corrective actions as needed. Assist with activities related to the completion and handover of construction projects, ensuring compliance with project requirements, specifications, and regulatory standards. Develop and maintain comprehensive Operational Readiness Plans, outlining all necessary tasks required for project closeout. Liaise with relevant stakeholders to coordinate and schedule ongoing workshops to ensure that all necessary documentation is obtained and recorded. Provide regular updates to project teams and management on the status of Interface and Operational Readiness activities, highlighting any potential risks or issues. Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and procedures, identifying opportunities for efficiency gains and implementing best practices. Participate in meetings with Key Stakeholders including ARTC/V/Line and others when directed, fostering effective stakeholder relationships. To be successful in this key role, you must have / What we are looking for; Strong understanding of construction processes Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, and a keen eye for detail Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, while maintaining high accuracy and quality Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with effective collaboration across diverse teams and stakeholders Proven experience in coordinating complex projects and readiness activities In-depth knowledge of the road and rail network configurations and the associated regulatory environment Experience in quality and completions, asset allocation, and works readiness within large-scale projects Capability to develop, oversee, and implement detailed operational readiness plans Demonstrated ability to track progress, identify issues, and implement corrective actions efficiently Proficiency in coordinating stakeholder workshops and ensuring comprehensive documentation Aptitude for providing clear updates and managing risks in interface and operational readiness activities Commitment to continuous improvement of processes and implementation of best practices Ability to participate in high-level stakeholder meetings and maintain effective relationships As part of the team, you can help us transform lives.
