The insurer has been established for over 70 years and prides itself on fostering a warm, inclusive, flexible work environment.Your new role You will work with a collaborative high-performing team while engaging closely with the internal business and will be responsible for the following: Manage the day-to-day delivery of legal services and provide support to major projects across the business, such as strategic growth opportunities and regulatory change projects. Provide advice on legal matters and advise on changes in law and regulatory requirements which have an impact on business. Drafting, reviewing and assisting the business with the drafting and negotiation of commercial agreements. Project management and other related tasks necessary to help the organisation meet its legal/regulatory obligations. Oversee an effective contract management framework. Oversee company secretarial type matters. Providing strategic advice on legal and regulatory matters to the business on a needs basis including interpretation of legislation. Supporting business areas to fulfil their regulatory and legislation obligations. What you'll need to succeed Ideally between 5-8 years PAE. Admitted to practice as a lawyer in Australia. Experience practising in insurance and/or financial services law. Proven ability to understand and interpret legislation, in particular exposure to competition and consumer law, Privacy Act, Intellectual Property, Work Health & Safety and Corporations law. Strong legal drafting and research skills. Advanced negotiation and influencing skills. Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
