We Do This By Maintaining and promoting the State Brand, driving its use across South Australian businesses and millions of products exported around the globe. Strengthening the state’s reputation and maximising the profile of South Australian goods, services, experiences and produce, locally, nationally and internationally. Working closely with industry and government departments to enrich and amplify the attraction of South Australia as a place to live, work, study, visit, invest and trade. The Associate Director, Brand SA is responsible for protecting and strengthening the reputation of Brand SA, and positively guiding consumer choices to buy South Australian. More Specifically, You Will Manage and develop the South Australian brand so that it is of relevance to, and representative of, South Australia and South Australians, differentiates and enhances South Australia’s appeal and competitiveness locally, nationally and internationally, and continually evolves and is kept current. Promote the South Australian brand by creating, coordinating, managing, developing and supporting promotional and marketing activities that strengthen South Australia’s image and reputation, and enhance the attractiveness of South Australia as a place to live, work, study, visit, invest and trade. Maximise the profile, and the competitive position, of South Australian goods, services, experiences and products in local, national and international markets. Identify risks to the reputation of the South Australian brand and develop mitigation or contingency plans in relation to that risk. Facilitate the collaboration between government, non-government, business and community sectors in South Australia in relation to matters relevant to the functions of Brand SA. Undertake, support and interpret any research, or other insights, into matters relevant to Brand SA’s functions. Provide advice and report to the Minister, Chief Executive DSD and Brand SA Advisory Board. Key Competencies To succeed in the role, you will be able to demonstrate: Substantial experience in developing and implementing stakeholder relations and communications programs, including managing extensive, integrated and detailed marketing and campaigns from strategy to implementation and evaluation. Experience working in a marketing or communications environment at a senior level, including highly developed knowledge of the advertising industry and sound understanding of brand strategy and marketing science to develop, promote and grow Brand SA using modern-day marketing practices, whilst complying with government guidelines, budgets and timelines. Experience in managing external agency relationships, including pitch and procurement processes, rate negotiation, media planning and buying, and creative development. Experience in leading staff and managing significant business unit and project resources to deliver a diverse range of work programs/projects within timeframes and budgets. Extensive experience in developing positive relationships with key stakeholders, media, public and private sector organisations, suppliers and the business community. You Will Also Have Superior communication skills, verbal and written, that builds credibility, delivers clear and concise content and uses a range of communication techniques to engage various audiences appropriately. Highly developed interpersonal and negotiation skills and demonstrated success in achieving results through collaboration with a range of stakeholders. Qualifications Essential: nil Desirable: Tertiary diploma or degree qualification in communications, marketing, business or a related discipline.
