Main Road Technical Officer Crookwell, Australia Reference: 6721826 Crookwell - 35 hours a week Hourly rate starts at $40.25 + 11.5% superannuation (Grade 11 in accordance with Council's Salary System and the Local Government State Award) Do you have experience in contract supervision and delivering projects? About the role Reporting to the Coordinator Road Maintenance Contract, you will be responsible for overseeing defect identification and management on State and Council roads, alongside associated infrastructure. Your expertise will be crucial in meeting contractual and specification requirements while working collaboratively with our dedicated team, guiding them to ensure work is efficiently and safely delivered in accordance with the Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW) contract requirements and Council's works program. Responsibilities include: Ensuring works are undertaken to documented procedures and in accordance with TfNSW and ULSC quality standards; Collecting, collating and providing information for reporting, and producing accurate and timely reports as required; Conducting inspections of TfNSW and council assets and reporting on / monitoring defects to ensure the integrity and reliability of the assets; Assisting in the development and supervision of the Heavy Patch Program and Resealing/Resurfacing Program ensuring progress and non-compliance across the service are monitored and addressed; Undertaking regular site inspections to ensure all areas comply with relevant standards including health and safety standards, taking immediate action as required to mitigate potential risks; Assisting in the development of maintenance and rehabilitation programs on State and Council Roads and associated infrastructure; Providing key technical advice, costs, and detailed estimates on road and asset maintenance and construction projects. Who are we looking for? A motivated and enthusiastic person who has contemporary knowledge and experience in construction, maintenance, and who can manage 'on ground' contractual and specification obligations/requirements in line with delivery programs, specifically Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation. You are experienced in delivering excellence through your team and are adept in achieving targets and meeting deadlines. You have exceptional communication skills and a track record of leading and supporting staff. Certificate IV in Construction or a related discipline or extensive demonstrated experience in construction and road maintenance; Contemporary knowledge and demonstrated experience in asset inspection principles and requirements including monitoring and reporting on defects; Demonstrated experience in maintenance and construction of road assets including bitumen sealing, heavy patching, and asphalt pavements; Contemporary knowledge and demonstrated understanding and application of TfNSW specifications as well as other relevant legislation, codes, and standards.
