Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure, this role is a key part of the senior leadership team at Knox City Council. It oversees a highly capable and engaged team responsible for a critical portfolio of services, including road and drainage maintenance, street sweeping, reactive maintenance, hazard inspection, civil construction works, asset preservation, engineering design, project delivery, and the management and maintenance of the Council's fleet. This role fosters a culture of high performance and accountability, ensuring excellent outcomes for local residents. Additionally, it champions best-practice customer service, actively listening to community needs to enhance the quality of life through well-maintained physical infrastructure and assets. As a results-driven leader, you bring experience in complex service delivery organisations, a strong understanding of regulatory environments, and a passion for civil infrastructure. Recognized for your values-based leadership, you have extensive operational expertise, relevant qualifications, and a proven ability to manage performance and deliver on operational targets. You possess a deep understanding of financial and contract management, OH&S legislation, and strong communication skills that enable collaboration across the broader organization. To strengthen community engagement and stakeholder relationships, you lead by example, promoting a customer-centric approach and best-practice methodologies that contribute to the safety and well-being of the community. Experience in the Local Government sector is highly desired, but not essential.
