About the Role As the Manager within Facilities Management Services, you will lead three diverse teams responsible for corporate office accommodation, utilities and sustainability for schools, and conference services. You will have three direct reports - the team leaders of each team - and you will report to the Director. Your key areas of responsibility are: Leading the Office Accommodation team which is responsible for corporate offices within the CBD and regional offices across the state. This includes leasing arrangements and negotiation, organising maintenance and repairs, refurbishments and fit outs, utilities and services, and more. Leading the Utilities and Sustainability team which is responsible for forecasting and providing funding to state schools to assist with the payment of utilities charges, along with provision of funding to schools for sustainability projects, and assisting the department with sustainability reporting. Leading the Conference Services team which is responsible for running the departmental conference facility and organising other external events. Leading a number of projects currently underway including CBD and regional refurbishment works and implementing a utilities monitoring platform. In leading the above teams and projects, some of your tasks will include: Leading your teams to deliver high quality, outcomes focused client services in line with department priorities. Working with team leaders and other stakeholders to resolve issues as they arise. Proactively developing relationships and conducting high level negotiations with stakeholders, including representing and advocating the department's position at interdepartmental and stakeholder meetings. Providing strategic and operational advice including the preparation and review of reports, briefing notes and submissions to the senior leadership and executive team. Utilising contemporary human resource practices and processes to build and maintain highly motivated, skilled and productive work teams. Other duties as directed and required. To excel in this role, the ideal candidate will possess: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Personal drive and initiative, plus the ability to effectively multi-task and manage your time. Enthusiasm and a customer-focused attitude. Ability to rapidly acquire a working knowledge of corporate office accommodation and a broad understanding of utilities and sustainability. Prior knowledge or experience in any of these fields would be highly desirable. Strong leadership skills and a strategic mindset.
