Together we Make the Difference #teammelbourne How this position will Make the Difference to City of Melbourne: The Manager Risk, Integrity and Audit leads the risk and assurance team to strategically manage enterprise risk, minimising exposure for Council, employees, and the community. This role provides high-quality strategic and technical advice to support Council’s risk management, ensures the insurance portfolio offers appropriate coverage, and oversees claims for loss, both insured and below excess. Additionally, the position proactively manages business continuity, including crisis management, readiness scenarios, and staff training. It also provides secretariat support to the Audit and Risk Committee. The role requires professional engagement with employees at all levels across Council and liaison with external stakeholders, including the Audit and Risk Committee, Council’s insurer, and other insurance-related contractors. What you will bring (Selection Criteria): Demonstrated experience in leading a team to achieve high performance outcomes with coaching skills to develop team capabilities, team cohesion and the ability to effectively manage conflict and under performance. Analytical and lateral thinking skills and the ability to take the initiative, drive change and implement innovations. Demonstrated ability to develop, manage and maintain business plans and associated budgetary and financial management requirements. Relevant qualification in Compliance, Risk Management or a related field (commerce, law, auditing etc). A strong in-depth knowledge of regulatory affairs, risk and compliance in a large-sized organisation. Minimum of 5+ years’ experience leading a team in a fast paced, dynamic, change environment.
