In partnership with people with lived and living experiences, our core purpose is to translate evidence into innovation and effective practice and collaborate with the workforce and researchers towards our common goal of driving groundbreaking change to Victoria's Mental Health and Wellbeing system. About the role: The Victorian Collaborative Centre for Mental Health and Wellbeing is seeking a Manager, Sector Capability to lead the design of the Collaborative Centre's future workforce capability operating model, which will coordinate workforce development and training that is informed by evidence (including the evidence of lived experience). Reporting to the Director, the Manager, Sector Capability will also work closely with the broader research team to deliver a public learning and engagement program. Accountabilities Supporting the design and finalisation of the Centre's first Workforce Education and Development Strategy. Leading a collaborative process to design, establish and deliver the Collaborative Centre's workforce education and development operating model, working with broad stakeholders, partners, and contractors, including people with lived experiences, service providers, academics and government bodies. Designing and supporting the promotion, coordination and delivery of workforce education and development programs in line with the Collaborative Centre's Strategic Plan 2024-2027 and legislated functions. Develop and implement processes or strategies to ensure the meaningful engagement and full participation of those with lived and living experiences to support the Collaborative Centre's work. Applying a strong understanding of the strategic context to all work, including the respective roles and responsibilities of the Collaborative Centre, the Department of Health and service providers in building workforce capability and improving mental health and wellbeing services. Where responsible for overseeing, monitoring or delivering projects, ensure they are delivered in accordance with relevant legislation and government regulations and guidelines. Provide authoritative advice, reasoned recommendations and innovative solutions to complex and sensitive issues based on comprehensive research. Deliver initiatives that meet the Board and Collaborative Centre's objectives within resourcing, timeline and budget parameters. Manage external contracts actively and effectively. Monitor and report on high priority issues, risks and trends and prepare and present reports, Board papers and ministerial briefs. Qualifications / Specialist Expertise Demonstrated experience working with people that have a past or current lived experience of mental ill-health or psychological distress is preferable. A tertiary qualification in fields related to mental health, social sciences, health administration and/or public health is desirable. Specialist Expertise - Expert knowledge relating to effective workforce education and development building within the mental health (preferred), human services or health sectors, including working within complex systems to effect change on the ground.
