The opportunity We have a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced social planner to join our award-winning, sought-after social planning team. We’re looking for a passionate and highly experienced person who can balance competing priorities, build strong client relationships, advocate based on evidence and best practice, and contribute to the continued growth of our practice. As a Manager in the Social Planning team you will lead the delivery of projects of a range of scales, across Australia, supported by Cred’s Directors. You will need to demonstrate expertise, curiosity, and leadership in the following areas: Project and team management – including mentoring your team, successful delivery of projects and services, and exceptional client services. Open space and recreation planning – Developing strategies for parks, sports facilities, and public spaces. Community and cultural facilities planning – Assessing community needs and planning for facilities like libraries, community centres, and cultural venues. Social needs and feasibility studies – Evaluating infrastructure and services required to support growing communities. Needs assessment for structure plans and masterplans – Providing evidence-based guidance for community infrastructure in urban developments. Social impact assessments – Evaluating the effects of projects, policies, or developments on communities. About you We’re looking for someone who is: Passionate about social change and committed to creating stronger, more inclusive communities. Experienced in social planning, with at least 5 years in community needs assessment, social impact analysis, or related fields within consultancy or government. A skilled project manager with the ability to oversee multiple projects, timelines, and budgets while engaging clients and stakeholders. Technically proficient with strong research and data analysis skills and experience in social planning methodologies. A leader and mentor with experience managing and supporting junior team members. An exceptional communicator with strong writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills, confident in stakeholder engagement. Highly organised and able to manage competing tasks, deadlines, and priorities effectively. Willing to travel to different communities, cities, and regions as needed for project work.
