Manufacturing Technical Manager (Baked Goods) AUD $180,000 base total pkg circa $250K per year Our client is the largest snack food producer in Papua New Guinea with over 1000 employees serving a country with over 10 million people. Formerly the original Arnotts biscuit factory network in Port Moresby and Lae, it has grown to be an iconic brand, extending to ice cream, chocolate, and bottled water production facilities and has a well-established history of drawing innovative experienced and qualified technical talent from around the world. Based in Lae, and reporting to the Group Operations Manager in Port Moresby, as the Manufacturing Technical Manager at Paradise Foods, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the technical operations/product and process engineering and driving continuous improvement primarily as lead technical manager and advisor to biscuit/baked goods production across all business groups. This position is essential in ensuring the quality and efficient production of our industry-leading products and the project management of new production equipment installations. What you'll be doing Manage and optimise the technical processes and equipment within the manufacturing plant to maximise productivity and quality FOR BAKED GOODS. Participate in strategic planning exercises. Oversee the implementation of new technologies and process map procedures to enhance manufacturing capabilities. Identify and resolve technical issues, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to production. Collaborate with/train and support cross-functional teams to develop and implement innovative solutions. Foster a culture of continuous learning to build internal talent. Provide technical guidance and support to the manufacturing team. Monitor and report on key performance indicators, identifying areas for improvement. Manage budgets to deliver results on time in full to spec. Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations. Act on customer feedback and build strong partnerships with suppliers and regulatory bodies. What we're looking for Tertiary qualifications in Food Science/Food Technology/Production Engineering specific to the role, THIS IS MANDATORY. Extensive experience (5+ years) in a technical management role in baked goods within a manufacturing or production environment. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and technologies related to baked goods. Proven track record of driving continuous improvement and implementing innovative solutions. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to effectively lead and motivate a team of technical professionals. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
