Manufacturing Technical Manager, Global Manufacturing & Ops Eng Ring, a cornerstone of Amazon's Smart Home ecosystem, has established itself as an industry leader with its substantial market share and formidable brand/product recognition. The Ring Global Manufacturing ops team is devoted to pursuing overall manufacturing operation excellence across the entire lifecycle of product and manufacturing partnership. You will manage high complexity programs of large scale, from prototype to mass production. The MTM is a key member of the development team and will be the main interface for worldwide hardware and software engineering teams, operations team, and each Contract Manufacturer. Drive for end-to-end manufacturing processes ensuring consistency on development & deployment across from SMT, FATP assembly, testing, and packing throughout the PDP lifecycle. Key job responsibilities Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Process Optimization Engage in DFx from concept to Production Validation Testing (PVT) Enforce DFM, DFA (Assembly), and DFS (Service) principles to product design Address manufacturing challenges and propose design improvements with MDE and MTE teams Develop cost-effective and workable production solutions to accelerate product maturity and improve manufacturability New Product Introduction (NPI) and Manufacturing Readiness Develop end-to-end manufacturing processes from prototype to mass production, identify and resolve manufacturing bottlenecks Execute xVT builds according to program schedules, ensure technical readiness, monitor major issue closure driving mitigation solutions of factory-related technical challenges during the NPI phase Manage engineering changes during NPI builds, define manufacturing process validation requirements to ensure process reliability and consistency Optimize manufacturing yields and efficiency (FPY, Cycle time, UPH) to meet targets throughout the product development lifecycle Strategic Influence and Cross-functional Collaboration Serve as the main interface between manufacturing partners, hardware and software engineering teams, and operation & supply chain cross-functional teams, collaborate with teams to implement and optimize manufacturing processes Develop a strategic plan for the MTM team, expand visibility, credibility, and influence to cross-functional teams, and present and talk with leadership Technology Innovation and Development Investigate and introduce new manufacturing technologies and methodologies online solutions, equipment requirement plans for new product manufacturing and testing to enhance product quality and efficiency Work strategically to improve SMT/FATP/Packing processes across product categories Identify, design, and standardize production line solution strategies, production procedures to improve efficiency among contractors/suppliers About the team We are Ring. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams (hardware, software, package)- 10+ years of technical product or program management experience, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience- Good written and oral communication skills, fluent in English- Bachelor’s degree or above in engineering PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - 10+ years of manufacturing process design and production process development experience, knowledge of lean manufacturing, six sigma, etc.- Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams, building processes, and coordinating release schedules- Experience defining KPIs/SLAs used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership- Exceptional strategic vision, business acumen, stakeholder management skills, and cross-functional leadership experience in managing global operations for technology/consumer product companies.- Familiarity with smart home and IoT technologies and markets.- Ability and willingness to work independently and travel frequently Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
