The CR&D Marketing Assistant is a specialist role within the MacKillop NSW Carer Recruitment and Development Team. The position is responsible for supporting the design and implementation of the NSW Foster Care recruitment strategy and to assist in the evaluation of each activity. The CR&D Marketing Assistant is a part-time (0.6 EFT) 12-month fixed term contract position and there will be an expectation that this position will be office based 3 days a week (Tues, Wed & Thurs) in any of our 5 CR&D programs either Lismore, Grafton, Blacktown, Wollongong or Batemans Bay. There will be some travel across locations and the incumbent will also need to be willing to support the NSW CR&D team with their recruitment activities which will include weekend and afterhours work. About the role: Assist in the development of the recruitment plans for each region to increase the attraction and recruitment of Foster Carers across NSW program regions. Comply with the relevant departmental and MacKillop Family Services processes and procedures and Child Safe Principles. Work closely with the Community Engagement and CR&D teams to deliver effective recruitment messages within the community that will attract high quality complex focused trauma informed and therapeutic foster carers. Assist in organising carer celebrations/social events, including public speaking engagements. Be an effective team member of the Carer Recruitment and Development Team. Assist in supporting the implementation and growth of the Volunteer Program. Key selection criteria: To be successful in this role, you will have: A tertiary qualification in a relevant field of Social Work, Welfare Services, Marketing, Community Engagement, Human Resources or Education. Demonstrated experience in marketing and media engagement. An understanding of staff or volunteer recruitment. Aboriginal staff - a qualification is desirable but experience and willingness to participate in training is essential. Demonstrated experience in community engagement, stakeholder engagement or event management, highlighting collaborative and result driven communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders. High level, proven report writing skills and excellent verbal communication skills. Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families. Ability to participate collaboratively and constructively within teams of peers, staff and other stakeholders, as well as initiate effective personal judgement when working alone.
