Job Description

SUMMARY : Manages and coordinates the distribution of materials for production. Performs analysis of materials and determines optimum control levels. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned. Manage MRP reports and lists. Track parts to ensure their completion dates. Review workload in the manufacturing areas. Coordinate bottlenecks with supervisors. Attend regularly scheduled meetings about workflow, policies, outsourcing, etc. involving various departments. Maintain data integrity via computer skills for data including cost, safety stock, lead-times, minimums, multiples, supplier data and other ERP fields. Communicate with various departments to maintain a constant flow of materials, processes and information. Coordinate information from engineering, purchasing, production control and manufacturing to support the master schedule. Perform other duties assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : Supervise purchasing and shipping/receiving. Supervise Production Control Department, including resolving personnel issues and holding reviews/evaluations. Strong interpersonal skills. Math and blueprint reading skills necessary to understanding routing of work throughout the Company. Strict attention to detail. Strong organization skills. SKILLS : Must be fluent in English with the ability to read, analyze, and interpret manufacturing drawings, technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Must be able to respond to inquiries or complaints from employees, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS : Uses addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of numbers including decimals and fractions. Uses simple formulae, charts, tables, drawings, specifications, schedules. Checks reports, forms, records and comparable data where interpretation is required involving basic skills knowledge. REASONING ABILITY : Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Must be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. PHYSICAL DEMANDS : The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
