Media Relations and Communications Officer Sales, Marketing and Innovation | Media/Journalism Ongoing $95,515 - $104,362 (APS6) + 15.4% superannuation Flexible working arrangements available Full-time position The Media Relations and Communications Officer plays a critical role within the team and the Mint. Through creative and strategic media and communication initiatives, the Media Relations and Communications Officer proactively increases awareness of every facet of the Mint – from coin releases, to tourism activities to corporate, innovation and sustainability initiatives. The Media Relations and Communications Officer works closely with media, senior managers, the CEO and the Minister’s Office, in developing and implementing media and internal/corporate communications activities. They also have the opportunity to work closely with major brands such as Vegemite, AC/DC, Woolworths and the Wiggles to create media ideas and launches that are creative and out-of-the-box. Duties of this position include: Generating media stories in relation to the Mint’s annual coin program, tourism and other activities, including developing media tools and briefings for spokespeople. Preparing reactive media statements and responses. Managing and coordinating media events and launches. Overseeing the production of the annual report and the updating of content on the corporate website. Liaising with the Minister’s Office and the Treasury. Coordinating and overseeing proofing services for the Mint. Drafting reports and responding to media related questions including Questions on Notice. Supervising and mentoring junior team members. Security clearance This position requires a Baseline security clearance. The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
