About the team The mental health team works to support people to experience positive mental health due to their time in the Australian high performance sport system. The team provides high quality education and support to ensure our people feel supported in and out of the sporting arena. About the role Working collaboratively across the Sport Wellbeing and Engagement Branch, this role will support the delivery of the ASC’s high performance sport Wellbeing and Engagement program of work, specifically in the area of mental health. In consultation with the Mental Health Lead (MHL), you will assist with the operation of the AIS Mental Health Referral Network, delivery of mental health education, and assist other stakeholders to optimise athlete wellbeing. About you You will have: Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or Mental Health Nursing. Registration with AHPRA or relevant governing body. Demonstrated competence and experience in the delivery of mental health education in a group setting. Demonstrated competence and experience in mental health triaging and referring to appropriate services. Understanding of current professional networks and referral options. Contemporary knowledge of issues impacting mental health and wellbeing and its relevance in the Australian high performance sport system. Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable from day to day in meeting the needs of the Mental Health Teams overall strategy. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, sharing work-related information, communicating transparently, contributing to team projects, being flexible and adaptable when team or department needs are reprioritised, showing mutual respect to team members. Demonstrated ability to develop rapport and network with key internal and external stakeholders. Desirable: Experience in policy development or evaluation of programs/systems. Experience working in high performance sport or government organisations. This position is offered as a FIXED TERM, 0.6 - 1 FTE position until 30 June 2026 with the possibility of being extended or made ongoing. Why work with us?
