Add expected salary to your profile for insights We are seeking a National nbn HSE Manager to provide specialist HSE advice and leadership across the Telecommunications business. You will play a key role in driving a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with legislation, managing risks, and supporting operational leaders to achieve HSE excellence. This position involves working closely with business leaders, subcontractors, and field teams to uphold Service Stream’s safety vision, values and operational standards. Your ability to lead teams, manage risks effectively, and drive a proactive safety culture will be critical to success in this role. Nature of position: PermanentLocation: NationalReporting Line: GM HSE Manager – Telecommunications Key Responsibilities: Provide specialist HSE advice to operational leaders, ensuring alignment with Service Stream’s safety vision and policies. Lead and develop a high-performing safety team, establishing clear performance expectations and professional development plans. Conduct site visits and field leadership activities to ensure visibility and adherence to safety standards. Oversee risk management processes, including safety compliance, hazard identification, and corrective action implementation. Ensure subcontractor and supplier compliance with safety standards, work documentation, and training requirements. Manage incident investigations and ensuring timely reporting. Drive continuous improvement through audits, inspections, and safety management system enhancements. About you: Demonstrated experience in a similar HSE leadership role within telecommunications, infrastructure, construction, or mining industries. 8+ years of experience in health and safety, with a strong understanding of WHS legislation and compliance requirements. Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, including subcontractor management. Experience in producing high-quality incident investigation reports, preferably using ICAM methodology. Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence and drive a proactive safety culture. Knowledge of current rehabilitation and injury management approaches. Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook. Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities, and lead by example in safety leadership. Minimum Qualifications: Advanced Diploma of WHS or equivalent. Incident Investigation Qualified – preferably ICAM Lead Investigator. Lead Auditor certification in WHS, Environment, or Quality. Current Australian Full Driver’s Licence.
