What you'll do The Network Operations Delivery Lead will handle the performance of specific Viasat Partners that have a major contribution to the operation and support of the Viasat ground system for the APAC satellite network. Viasat Partners are major technology vendors, and service and infrastructure providers for the Viasat APAC ground system. This role will ensure that partners are delivering operational services to Viasat as per contracted agreements within Australia for Viasat ground systems (networks). The day-to-day The role will require an engineering and operations mentality, with a detailed approach to planning, measuring, analysing, handling major incident issues, and partner performance. This will include day to day interaction with external and internal stakeholders. This role will work locally in Australia and will form part of the AU GSN Engineering team. What you'll need Act as the operations lead for key external partners for networks in Australia:Act as the main point of contact for critical issues, governance, and reporting for Viasat Partners. Review contracted performance data from Viasat Partners and from Viasat reporting systems. Analyse and assess performance of Viasat Partners and represent Viasat’s assessment of Viasat Partner performance at governance and stakeholder reviews. Analyse, assess and review SLA performance and calculate service credits as per contractual agreements. Analyse and assess Viasat Partner support categorisation and identify ways in which Viasat Partners can improve system and service performance. Provide Viasat Partner contract advice to Viasat team members. Represent Viasat commercial and contractual position in issue and dispute resolution discussions with Viasat Partners. Act as the domain authority when reviewing or changing contracts with Viasat Partners in relation to services scope and requirements. Advance key issues and incidents to Viasat Partner team members. Ensure an accurate level of focus and attention is provided by Viasat Partners. Provide regular and timely updates to Viasat team members during major incidents where Viasat Partners are involved. Work with Viasat engineering and development teams to evaluate and recommend future technology options, and support the implementation of technology upgrades through interacting with Viasat Partners. Represent Viasat operational needs with Viasat Partners. Directly handle a small team of staff working on field services activities. Coach, develop and support other less experienced operations engineers within Viasat. Support the selling process by participating and contributing to the development of customer quotations, including effort estimation, scope definition, and description of engineering work where Viasat Partner systems and services are required. Participate and contribute to engineering governance forums. Drive completion and closure of follow up actions from internal and external forums. Facilitate engineering outcomes and decision making by identifying and engaging domain experts and collaborators in local and international teams. What will help you on the job Five plus years of demonstrated ability in telecommunications engineering, design or support roles. Strong customer and partner relationship skills. Experience acting as a point of contact for key relationships. Experience handling tier one telecommunications vendors and service providers in complex commercial environments. Good communicator able to work effectively with the multi-discipline Viasat teams. Two plus years of people management experience. Strong team management skills. Good and effective verbal and written communication skills. Good time management, organizational skills and attention to detail. Experienced and competent analytical and problem-solving skills.
