Job Description: Mars Petcare is seeking a creative and inquisitive Packaging Technologist to challenge how we do things. You will be hands-on to problem solve, continuously improve and support the deployment of pet food packaging solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of key objectives and creative ideas, driving effective project and time management skills, and strong communication skills to ensure any obstacles are overcome. What are we looking for? Prior experience working in food manufacturing, preferably within quality, food safety, engineering or packaging/process development is highly preferred. Bachelor degree in Food Science, Engineering, Chemistry or equivalent experience (preferred). Excellent understanding of food packaging. A continuous improvement mindset, to identify new opportunities. Strong problem-solving skills to overcome day-to-day obstacles. What will be your key responsibilities? Collaborate with Packaging Engineers and the Product Teams to help deploy new packaging within defined process capabilities that meet finished product specifications, Q&FS standards and efficiency targets. Resolve any packaging-related issues that impact product quality, cost and/or manufacturing efficiency. Work closely with Supply; this role will utilize key technical skills in 6 sigma to understand where opportunities lie to continuously improve site quality and efficiency targets. Development of new packaging processes, packaging specifications and subsequent validation with the site CVS team. Support any line trials to establish process, capability, validation and first production runs. Support site cost-saving initiatives which improve run rates, manufacturing efficiency, reduce waste and improve product quality whilst meeting product specifications. What can you expect from Mars?
