About the Role: As a Partnership Development Manager for the Quantum Australia Victorian Node, you will drive the Quantum Ecosystem Development programme by identifying unmet needs and opportunities. Leveraging your business development expertise, you will facilitate research and development collaborations between industry and quantum capabilities for the four universities of the Victorian Node, with a focus on MedTech, Transport, Defence and Space, Financial, Advanced Technologies, and Energy. Your responsibilities will include: Building strategic partnerships – Develop industry and government collaborations in key sectors to drive quantum technology adoption. Growing the quantum ecosystem – Connect industry with research capabilities, secure funding, and support internships. Providing strategic advice – Support leadership with partnership strategies, pipeline development, and reporting. Enhancing collaboration – Foster national partnerships, share insights, and represent the Victorian Node. Who we are looking for: You will have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate, resolve conflicts, and handle matters with tact and discretion. You will be highly organised, able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, and exercise sound judgement both independently and as part of a team. With strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, you will be adept at partnership development and reporting. An enthusiasm for learning about quantum computing and its potential impact will also be highly valued. You will also have: An undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline, with extensive experience in industries related to quantum technologies; a postgraduate qualification is desirable but not essential. Experience in business development or relationship management within industry, academia, or research organisations. A proven ability to build strong relationships, take initiative, and drive mutually beneficial outcomes, with experience in drafting proposals and agreements highly regarded. Experience in developing and managing academic partnership programmes, with expertise in securing funding and collaborating with industry or government on quantum computing projects. Please note: This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
