Job Description Are you a payroll expert with leadership experience, ready to take the next step in your career? We’re looking for a Payroll Specialist Team Lead to drive accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in our payroll operations. This role is full-time permanent role, based in our Collins Street Office, VIC with hybrid working options available. The Payroll Specialist Team Lead position sits within our BSC (Business Services Centre) which provides services such as payroll, purchase to pay, accounts receivable, and travel and expense management. The delivery of these services is enabled by the combined efforts of BSC’s solution advisory, solution training and systems accounting teams, together with change management, finance and human resources specialists. What you will be doing Managing remediation case lifecycles, from defining and analysing issues to implementing resolutions and making recommendations to future proof payroll systems and processes. Conducting data analysis to validate results, ensure accuracy, and drive continuous improvements in payroll processes Preparing accurate payroll data, conducting reconciliations, and calculating payments, including complex terminations and long service leave balances. Collaborating with stakeholders across business units to validate outcomes, provide insights, and implement process improvements. Communicating payment details to employees and external parties, maintaining project documentation, and meeting compliance obligations. Collaborating with stakeholders to develop and approve UAT test cases, conducting testing, documenting results and managing defects to resolution. Providing coaching, development, and leadership to team members to enhance performance and maintain service levels. What you will bring 6+ years end to end payroll experience Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field (preferred). Relevant payroll qualifications or certifications (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional). Advanced Excel (essential) Demonstrable delivery of timely and accurate HR/Payroll services in an autonomous role with a high volume of transactions (minimum 600-700 employees) Managed workload distribution at a senior level – capable of assisting the team to complete workload and acting as an escalation point for the rest of the payroll team Significant experience using SAP and Spinifex Significant experience with testing tools Extensive experience in payroll processing Extensive experience in applying legislative payroll requirements centered around EBA/Award management, tax and employment law. Experience in manual back pay calculations and manual leave accrual calculations Experience in understanding EBAs and how to apply this to payroll processing Experience in data analytics Previous experience working in a Shared Services environment will be highly regarded Why you will love working with us Work with an ASX listed company, working with market leaders.
