Postdoctoral Research Associate - Addiction Medicine (First Nations) Apply locations: Camperdown Campus Time type: Full time Posted on: Posted 3 Days Ago Job requisition id: 0130095 Significantly contribute with Associate Professor Michael Doyle Full time or part-time, fixed term for 12 months Base Salary from $109,301 – 122,830 + 17% superannuation About the opportunity We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow or Research Fellow to contribute to the development of the evidence base for culturally informed interventions to support Aboriginal people with alcohol and other drug problems. Your key responsibilities will be to: Conduct research, scholarly or professional activity, independently and as part of a team, contributing to discipline knowledge. Provide informal mentoring and advice to students within discipline. Carry out administrative tasks and contribute to faculty/school meetings. Contribute to a positive workplace culture in which diversity of thought, contribution, collaboration, excellence and achieving outcomes are valued and enabled. Understand and contribute to furthering the university and faculty/school strategic agenda. Undertake other duties and contribute to projects appropriate within the classification level as required. About you Research masters or PhD in Public Health or related field. Demonstrated understanding of alcohol and other drug treatment services research. Ability and willingness to travel domestically as needed. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with sound communication skills in working with Aboriginal people and Aboriginal Community Controlled organisations and a demonstrated level of tact and discretion in dealing with day to day operational matters. Skills in qualitative research methods and ability to lead research involving interviews and focus groups. Extensive experience conducting original research and/or engaging in scholarly activity. Demonstrated experience assisting with the preparation and submission of grant applications or manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals or human research ethics applications.
