The Principal HR Advisor (Industrial and Employee Relations) role offers an opportunity to play a key role in delivering important industrial and employee relations initiatives. You will support the negotiation of the new enterprise bargaining (Certified Agreement) process for the Office and assist in managing communications and collaboration with a range of key stakeholders.Key Responsibilities Provide high quality policy and strategic advice on industrial relations matters, including matters arising under the Industrial Relations Act 2016, awards, Office of the Queensland Ombudsman Certified Agreement, Ministerial directives, circulars, guidance notes, and policies. Support the negotiation, development, and implementation of enterprise bargaining agreements for all employee groups, including engaging with relevant unions/employee representatives, under the direction of the HR Manager. Provide expert advice to senior management of the Office of the Queensland Ombudsman on workforce relations issues with an emphasis on the management of complex employee cases. Manage complex investigations, advisory and assurance activities and develop strategies to resolve problems and manage wellbeing, health and safety risks. Undertake a leadership role to ensure managers and HR specialists across the Office are developed and trained in relation to the management and handling of case management and workforce relations issues to enhance the Office's capabilities and skills in these key areas. Prepare correspondence, including briefing materials and reports, for the Ombudsman and Inspector of Detention Services, the Executive Leadership Team and other staff on issues as they pertain to workforce relations. Undertake ongoing research and analysis of contemporary human resource practices and policies occurring at a whole of government level with a specific focus on workforce relations. Work collaboratively with other team members, participate in meetings and training programs, and actively monitor, review and assist with improvements to policy, procedure, process and administrative practice across The Office and stakeholder agencies.
