Unleash your potential and #MakeADifference!The role provides whole of department input into a range of planning and development processes to ensure sustainable management, use and allocation of the State’s natural resources. You will represent agency interests in environmental impact assessments, local and regional planning processes and in providing pre and post-lodgement advice for statutory Regional Plans, major projects, priority growth areas, and development proposals with potential impacts on Queensland’s natural resources. We strengthen regional and rural economies by supporting job creation, diversification, and infrastructure development, collaborating closely with local communities to address their unique needs.About The Role In this role you will: Lead planning and project teams across Queensland to ensure effective service delivery, business improvement, and policy implementation. Coordinate, represent and lead the department's input into major projects, Environmental Impact Assessments, local and regional planning instruments and development assessment to ensure impacts on natural resources are considered. Deliver high-quality policy and planning advice under Queensland's Planning Framework. Assist where required in the naming of geographical features and localities (also known as suburbs) in Queensland. Prepare submissions, briefs, and contribute to legislation, policy, and guideline development. Advise, consult, and negotiate with stakeholders, teams, and agencies. Manage projects and deliver milestones. What We're Looking For Demonstrated excellent communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving ability, and experience managing multiple complex projects and leading a geographically dispersed, multi-disciplinary team. A Degree qualification relevant to Natural Resource and Land Use Planning and Management or agreed equivalent. Experience with the Planning Act 2016, State Development and Public Works Organisation Act 1971 and Environmental Protection Act 1994 and Place Names Act 1994 or other related legislation is highly regarded. Travel away from the centre may be required. This may involve travel outside of normal office hours and/or overnight accommodation for extended periods.
