The Business Bank Property & Construction Finance Crew , within Business Lending , is dedicated to delivering outstanding outcomes for our clients whilst having achieved the right balance between risk and reward as markets evolve. In the Crew, we operate as a Centre of Excellence for client transactional and valuation support, property market strategy setting, data analytics and reporting, credit risk underwriting and training. The Crew also consists of delivery squads that exist to achieve our OKRs. All our teams and squads support Business Lending Product and the broader Business Bank front line to operate at scale in a way that is profitable, safe and delivers a better day at work for our people. This role will be a 9-months secondment opportunity for an internal candidate, or a 9-months Maximum Term Contract opportunity for an external candidate. Do work that matters In this role, you will be accountable for the Collateral Management Product and lead multiple work streams that deliver a combination of application and process improvement for our front-line teams and data users. As a Product Owner, you will lead a team of engineers, testers, product managers and business analysts, both on and offshore. Key Responsibilities Apply expertise to support prioritisation, balance trade-offs, and explore strategies to successfully achieve business outcomes. Accountable for addressing impediments, driving decisions and resolving escalations. Lead and define the product vision, goals and roadmap. Act as the voice of the business and translate this for the team. Drive initiatives from inception to ensure alignment of product strategy. Formulate hypotheses to validate customer problems and define clear learning objectives that will inform product roadmap. Identify, articulate and manage risks and compliance across streams of work. Incorporate design thinking and analytics to inform product design. Lead and develop the product roadmap, and engagement with senior stakeholders/business units to manage the delivery of product roadmap. Lead the Squad day-to-day to deliver change and lifecycle activities. Maintain a well prioritised Backlog to deliver business and customer outcomes. Manage senior business and technical stakeholders to ensure that prioritisation is understood and agreed to. Manage the Squad’s performance to defined objectives including OKR tracking, etc. We’re interested in hearing from people who have Proven Product Owner experience, ideally within lending or business banking. Advanced analytical and problem-solving capability. Advanced Data and Model knowledge. Strong process improvement and change management skills. A passion for delivering great outcomes for our customers. Experience leading multi-functional teams. Advanced communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong risk management mindset. Ability to get into detailed solution design and technical content, as well as big picture strategic thinking. Thrives in a fast-paced environment. Experience working in an agile environment. Tenacity, resilience, ability to deal with multiple changing priorities. Experience liaising with a range of stakeholders from senior management to technical developer teams.
