Job Description This rewarding position will be responsible for assisting Pacific Netball Federations in strengthening their governance and administrative frameworks, developing policies, and processes, and building the capacity of staff and communities. It also supports the development of sustainable pathways that promote safe, inclusive, and accessible netball across the Pacific region. Reporting to a dedicated and passionate Head of Market Development, responsibilities include: Growing Netball’s international reach, creating a sustainable organisational developmental impact for partner countries. Coordinating workshops and training to strengthen the capacity of Pacific netball federation staff, volunteers and the broader workforce, including coaches, umpires and bench officials. Managing the key program partnerships, forming strategy, setting standards and defining accountabilities with key program delivery partners. Regularly assessing and monitoring organisational capability of partner countries. Designing and prioritising organisational development needs alongside partner countries as part of annual project planning. Driving the effective implementation of organisational development plans in partner countries, leading and managing key projects. Where required, sourcing and engaging in-country expert advice to support project delivery and provide mentoring and guidance to partner countries. Overseeing a comprehensive framework of policies, processes and procedures that ensures integrity and accountability in the delivery of the programs and initiatives. Where appropriate, linking initiatives to Pacific communities within Australia, fostering strong ties between local and regional netball networks. Supporting strategic alliances with government and non-government agencies, other sporting bodies and corporate partners in relation to Netball Australia’s international development priorities and initiatives. Supporting the Head of Market Development – International Programs in the planning, budgeting and reporting for the Pacific Women’s Sports Administration Pilot Program. Desired Skills and Experience The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience: Specialist Knowledge & Experience • Understanding of effective organisations and the governance, management and policy settings that supports organisational growth.• Able to demonstrate program management, training and development experience.• Highly aware and can modify behaviour to take account of cultural nuances.• Familiarity with Netball Australia’s Coaching and Umpiring Accreditation Framework, including associated courses and accreditation processes.• Experience in budget interpretation and understanding, program/project/line and contract management, working with Government agencies/authorities, policies and funding programs.• Ability to monitor financial performance.• Skills in developing partnerships across various sectors including government and non-government, including the netball community.• Capability to develop strategies, policies and high-level reports with clear recommendations. Interpersonal Skills • Proven project leadership, management and administration experience.• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence and elicit cooperation of people, whilst motivating, inspiring and empowering them.• Ability to lead and work effectively with and influence teams and resolve complex problems.• Demonstrated ability to plan and prioritise work objectives to achieve goals within available resources and competing timeframes.• Ability to influence and work with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds across cultural and national identities.• High level understanding of best practice governance, leadership and organisational development principles.• High level communication skills; face to face, telephone and in written reports and general correspondence.• Ability to set priorities, plan work programs, meet deadlines and manage time effectively.• Experience in working independently and as an integral part of a team.• Flexibility, adaptability and resilience.• Political acumen, initiative and pro-active problem solving.• Competence with the Microsoft Office suite of products, email and the Internet.• Alignment to, and champion of our DNA. This opportunity is offered on a fixed-term contract through to mid 2026, and will be predominantly based at our HQ in vibrant Fitzroy, where you will be spoilt for choice on great coffee spots! Given the unique nature of the sports industry, and the domestic & global reach of our organisation within the Pacifics, travelling interstate/internationally and working outside of Netball HQ and traditional office hours may be required.
