Job Description About the roleThe Program Specialist role assists to coordinate and implement initiatives and activities that deliver on priority projects for Indigenous Tourism and TEQ’s strategic objectives under the leadership of the Program Director of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultures. In assisting to implement and coordinate these initiatives and activities, the role facilitates project-specific interaction with key internal and external stakeholders. The Program Specialist is an identified position to deliver bespoke tourism and events outcomes to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Mandatory Requirements for an Identified Role: It is a genuine occupational requirement for Identified roles that the position be filled by an Aboriginal person or a Torres Strait Islander person as set out in Section 7 of the Anti Discrimination Act 1991 for the purposes contained in Section 25 of that Act. This role is 3 days per week on a temporary basis until 27 June 2025. Key Responsibilities Significant experience in project coordination, facilitation, financial management and reporting. Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. Experience in engaging with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Project coordination skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise. Demonstrated success in providing consistent and exceptional customer service. Proactive and confident approach with a demonstrated ability to problem solve. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience in writing business cases and reports. Demonstrated ability to prepare correspondence including letters, presentations and reports. Sound skills in the Microsoft suite of applications. Excellent time and organisational skills.
