PAMS is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated leader to step into the Program Manager - Community Health Programs role! The Program Manager - Community Health Programs plays a pivotal role in the operational leadership, management, and execution of community health initiatives. Reporting directly to the Director of Community Health & Wellbeing and accountable to the CEO, this position ensures the seamless implementation of programs while fostering collaboration, efficiency, and adherence to compliance standards. As the operational lead for community health programs, the Program Manager is instrumental in translating strategic objectives into actionable plans and outcomes. This role is dedicated to enhancing the delivery of high quality, culturally appropriate services that align with the organisation’s mission and goals. To be considered for this position, you must have: Relevant tertiary qualifications in health services management, public health, community development, social work, or a related field. Demonstrated experience in leading community health initiatives or managing projects within health or community services sectors, preferably in Aboriginal health contexts. Strong leadership and team management skills, with a demonstrated ability to mentor and empower staff. Comprehensive knowledge of community health principles and the social determinants of health. Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports and facilitate stakeholder engagement. Demonstrated commitment to cultural safety and working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Proficiency in budget management and compliance with funding agreements. The position involves working with a multicultural organisation where the majority of staff, clients and stakeholders identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. Candidates must be able to demonstrate an understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. About the Benefits You will enjoy an attractive remuneration package including a base salary of $116,378.00 - $136,145.80 per annum excluding superannuation. PAMS operates five sites, supported by a range of clinicians, community health workers and other ancillary workers. Although the successful candidates will have a substantive location (Newman) they must be prepared from time to time to work across any one of these sites should they be required. PAMS operates in some of the most remote parts of Australia and staff are required to be proficient at driving a 4WD vehicle and willing to fly in light aircraft. About the Organisation With an administrative hub based in Newman, in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, The Puntukurnu Aboriginal Medical Service (PAMS) provides holistic primary health care to the individuals and families within the remote communities of Jigalong, Parnngurr, Punmu and Kunawarritji. PAMS aims to improve the standard of health of the Martu people and all Aboriginal people living in the East Pilbara region of Western Australia through the provision of community based, comprehensive primary health care services. We exist to promote the health and well-being of individual community members and to relieve sickness and the suffering of the indigenous community as a whole. We are passionate about providing the highest standard of patient care whilst incorporating a holistic approach toward diagnosis and management of illness.
