Project Manager – Argyle Closure Passion and commitment to the continual improvement of operations management and safety Fly in, Fly out from Perth – 8 days on, 6 days off Exciting closure project, with future prospects and career growth About the role Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs. We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join Rio Tinto’s Argyle site, as part of the Mine Closure activities. In this position you will be responsible for developing and implementing scope, objective and delivery strategy for a portfolio of function specific or cross functional projects and associated teams. This role is a great opportunity for an experienced and established Project Manager & professional leader. This key role will see you leading a team and overseeing contractor delivery to achieve successful outcomes in safety, quality, cost & schedule. Achievement of these outcomes relies on proactive project management, leadership, and stakeholder engagement. Leading on the frontline is one of the most important jobs in our business and comes with a huge amount of responsibility. We need you to motivate, inspire and keep your people safe and well. Reporting to the Manager, working 8 days on, 6 days off roster you will also: Develop and implement an effective stakeholder engagement plan and assist with gaining necessary approvals. Monitor, manage, and report project performance indicators to meet business requirements. Develop, implement, and improve project execution through continuous improvement of methods and standards. Lead engineering effort including engagement and management of specialist contractors and consultants. Identify and mitigate key project risks and maximize benefit from opportunities for the project. Provide technical support and direction to project stakeholders, building on and sharing the lessons learned. Maintain relationships with key stakeholders to drive a culture of collaboration, participation and improvement. Provide input into and ensure compliance with standardized project processes, systems and tools across projects. Manage and develop the performance of the team in line with Rio Tinto’s company values, in order to achieve objectives. Provide coaching and mentoring to direct reports and project team members. Where you’ll be working Our Argyle diamond mine, which sits on the traditional country of the Miriuwung, Gidja, Malgnin and Wularr people in Western Australia, is one of the world’s largest producers of diamonds and the largest supplier of natural coloured diamonds – including white, champagne, cognac, blue, violet and the rare and the highly-coveted Argyle pink and red diamonds. Argyle has produced more than 825 million carats of rough diamonds since it began production in 1983 and has sufficient reserves to economically mine through to the end of 2020.
