Re-Entry Enrolled Nurse - Employment Register Australia, Tas Jan 31, 2025 About the Tasmanian State Service The Tasmanian State Service (TSS) is the largest employer in Tasmania, with over 28,000 employees providing services to the Tasmanian community at all levels. The Department of Health provides support to nurses to re-enter practice via the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) Supervised Practice - Pathway 1 or Re-entry Program - Pathway 2. Salary: $64,991 pro-rata per annum Classification: Enrolled Nurse Grade 2 (Increment point Grade 2, Year 1) Eligibility Criteria To be eligible to apply, applicants must meet the following criteria: Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, or New Zealand citizen. Tasmanian resident for the 12-month period immediately prior to the time of application. A previously registered enrolled nurse who has not practised for 5-10 years and is unable to meet NMBA registration requirements. Obtained NMBA written approval to complete Re-entry to Practice via Pathway 1 or Pathway 2. Be accepted into Supervised Practice Pathway 1 with the Department of Health (Pathway 1 only ). Be accepted into a NMBA approved Re-entry to practice Program, including evidence of a secured clinical placement for the practice component of the program (Pathway 2 only ). Duties The Re-Entry Enrolled Nurse - Supervised Practice is required to: Actively participate in a Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) approved learning plan in accordance with the NMBA, Agency, and legal requirements. Participate in clinical activities and duties under supervision to meet the requirements set by the NMBA in order to achieve general registration as an Enrolled Nurse. Be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as an Enrolled Nurse with provisional or general registration with conditions. Be recommended to undertake the Re-Entry Program, Supervised Practice (Pathway 1) in Tasmania. Hold current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration (applies only to employees working in particular areas). Satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, which includes conviction checks in the following areas: Crimes of violence Sex-related offences Serious drug offences Crimes involving dishonesty Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
