Department of Land, Planning and the Environment Professional 3 - (Remuneration Package Range $130,039 - $145,437) Weeds Management Katherine/Palmerston Ongoing vacancy available This vacancy may be available in either Katherine or Palmerston subject to negotiation with the successful applicant. The Northern Territory Department of Lands, Planning and Environment is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced person to work within the Weed Management Branch as the Manager for the Katherine Region. The position, ideally based in Katherine, provides frontline technical and professional advice to industry, community and government bodies. The successful applicant will provide expert advice to a diverse range of stakeholders while also managing the operational budget and personnel of the Katherine regional team. You will need to enjoy the outdoors and working in the Top End of the NT. Knowledge and experience of weed management principles, development of strategic management plans, and compliance with legislation to protect the Territory’s economy, community, industry, and environment from the adverse impacts of weeds are crucial to this role. There is scope for the position to be Darwin-based with regular travel to Katherine and communities.
