Are you passionate about community engagement and research? We are looking for a Research & Engagement Advisor to join our team and play an integral part in shaping the future of the City of Stonnington. In this role, you’ll combine research expertise with community engagement strategies to gather valuable insights and engage local residents and stakeholders in meaningful ways. You will collaborate across departments to ensure community feedback influences our decision-making and drives positive change in the area. Key responsibilities: Design and execute tailored engagement strategies that align with our organisational goals and vision. Lead community engagement initiatives that gather input from residents to inform City of Stonnington projects, strategies, and services. Manage the Connect Stonnington platform, ensuring effective digital engagement with the community. Develop, distribute, and analyse surveys and other research tools to gather key community insights. Continuously assess and improve methods for collecting and interpreting community data to support ongoing engagement efforts. Provide in-depth analysis of engagement activities, preparing clear reports to share findings with stakeholders. Collaborate with the communications team to develop communication strategies that enhance engagement efforts. Build capacity across the organisation by sharing best practices and promoting community engagement techniques. Join us in this full-time permanent role offering a competitive salary of $95,013 - $102,899 , plus 11.5% superannuation and the added perk of a monthly assigned day off ! Desired Skills and Experience To thrive in this role, you will need: A proven ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and engage with diverse stakeholders to drive meaningful outcomes. Experience implementing continuous improvement strategies to enhance community engagement and gather diverse perspectives. Solid understanding of modern community engagement principles and the IAP2 framework. Strong research, analysis, and report-writing skills, with experience using platforms like Qualtrics and online engagement tools. Effective communication skills, capable of developing strong, productive working relationships across various teams and external partners. A tertiary qualification in social sciences, research, communications, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
