This position will provide project and research assistance to research staff in activities associated with the project entitled Codesigning and integrating a digital parent-led intervention for child anxiety in hospitals: An exploratory study. The project aims to codesign and integrate the delivery of an existing digital parent-led exposure-focused intervention for children who present with anxiety at the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network. The role reports to a Senior Postdoctoral within the Child Mental Health Team at Black Dog Institute. Duties & Responsibilities Provision of practical and efficient research support, including, but not limited to, development of study protocols, ethics preparation and management, secure data collection, data handling and management, and the day-to-day running of the project. Proactive support in the running of focus groups and qualitative data collection from parents and hospital staff Development of materials required for focus groups, such as online whiteboards and interview schedules Proactive assistance with data analysis, research reports, peer-reviewed publications, presentations, and ethics progress reports Provision of administrative and clerical duties, including preparing meeting agendas, arranging meetings for key stakeholders, preparing and distributing minutes Monitor research protocols, provide problem solving and resolution to any evolving problems related to design, implementation, and analysis Liaise with organisations, data custodians, stakeholders, and collaborators and actively participate in meetings and discussions as required Coordinate, plan and execute day-to-day research activities within the framework of agreed project timelines and responsibilities including coordinating research participants and data collection. Adhere to all research ethics and governance codes, regulations, and protocols Undertake mandatory training, including GCP, research integrity, and cyber security training Cooperate with all health and safety policy and procedures of the Institute and take all reasonable care to ensure your actions or omissions do not impact on the health and safety of yourself and others. Selection Criteria Essential Criteria A university degree in psychology or related discipline (e.g. neuroscience, public health), or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through a combination of education, training, or experience. At least 2 years’ experience working in research. Knowledge of research protocols, experimental design, and planning as involved in developing research projects and reporting against milestones. Experience working with a range of computer systems and applications, including Microsoft Word, Teams, Excel. Demonstrated superior interpersonal communication skills to initiate and maintain effective stakeholder relationships whilst exercising discretion and confidentiality. Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands. An understanding of and commitment to BDI’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines. Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
