Resource and Information Communication Technology Officer Branch: School of Special Educational Needs: Medical and Mental Health Division: Service Delivery - Statewide Services Salary: Level 2, $66,449 - $71,191 per annum (pro-rata) (DOE (SSO) CA 2022) This is a permanent part-time (0.8FTE) position commencing Term 2, 2025 The School of Special Educational Needs: Medical and Mental Health (SSEN:MMH) is one of eight specialist schools within Statewide Services. The SSEN:MMH administrative centre is based at PCH in Nedlands, with metropolitan programs in hospital and community health settings across sites in the north and south metropolitan education regions. Staff are timetabled to programs across SSEN:MMH campuses including Bentley, Joondalup, Midland, Murdoch, Tuart Hill, and Nedlands to ensure we meet the needs of all referred students from Kindergarten to Year 12 and improve educational outcomes of these students. Our teachers work with interdisciplinary health teams and collaboratively with other teachers and support staff. These teams assist us meet the educational, medical and psychosocial needs of students ensuring continuity of education. The Resource and Information Communication Technology (ICT) Officer with the SSEN:MMH will be part of a dynamic and collaborative team who are pivotal in ensuring the efficient management and utilisation of specialised resources and equipment within SSEN:MMH educational setting. Key responsibilities include recording, maintaining, and processing specialised resources and equipment using library information management systems and registers. This may involve meticulous documentation and inventory management to ensure accuracy and availability of resources. Additionally, the ICT role encompasses assisting in resource and equipment stock-takes, reporting, and handling the disposal of obsolete, surplus, or unserviceable items. Effective management of the library loan pool and resources in the Resource Centre is important, ensuring optimal allocation of space and readiness of resources and equipment for collection. Furthermore, the role involves substantial technical support responsibilities, such as maintaining Information Technology (IT) systems throughout the SSEN:MMH campuses. This includes tasks like updating passwords, reimaging computers, setting up accounts, and assisting with the installation and upgrading of technology. The ICT allied professional also provides vital training, advice, and support to staff on desktop and software applications, ensuring smooth operation and troubleshooting of IT-related issues. Overall, the role demands a blend of technical expertise, organisational skills, and effective communication to support the school’s ICT infrastructure. The Resource and ICT Officer should play a key role in promoting and enabling the use of library resources and technologies by both staff and students. The role is based in the metropolitan area from Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH) in Nedlands and assists SSEN:MMH staff across the state in all areas related to library resources and ICT. Travel between metropolitan campuses is facilitated by school travel procedures. The PCH campus has extensive public transport access and QEII Staff Parking is available on application.
