Programs include a nurturing Junior School and a growing Senior School (International Baccalaureate Diploma Program and Montessori Careers Program), in addition to a vibrant Parent and Toddler Group and an Early Learners Program. Melbourne Montessori College is seeking to appoint an experienced values-oriented College Accountant to provide essential support to the Business Manager. Reporting to the Business Manager, you will provide a range of support across the day-to-day accounting and finance functions. Key Responsibilities Management and processing of periodic school fee invoicing, accounts receivable with a strong focus on debt collection. Month end journals and preparation of general ledger reconciliations. Preparation and processing of the end-to-end fortnightly payroll, including admin, STP and management of payroll related queries. Maintain all areas of Accounts for the College including bank account and credit card reconciliation and capturing of appropriate support (receipts) Assist with compliance reporting requirements including BAS/IAS/FBT/ super/Workcover end of period and end of year specific requirements Actively identify the improvements in current process and procedures to improve efficiency and the value of the finance function to the organization. Support the business manager with financial reporting Assist in the preparation of policies and other college management documents Reception support when required Skills and Experience To be successful in this role, you have 3+ Years’ experience in similar role preferred Experience with School Edge and Pay3k, Xero highly desirable. Proficient in the use of financial software as well as the Microsoft applications including, Word, Excel, Power Point etc. Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage time and prioritise workload. A flexible and adaptable approach to work with the ability to pivot when required. Strong customer service skills with the ability to problem solve. Very good communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to observe confidentiality, where required. Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with a wide range of people.
