Senior Development Expert (IBM API Connect Developer) Grid Talent Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia Grid Talent is seeking an experienced IBM API Connect Developer to join a Federal Government Agency. As a Senior Development Expert (IBM API Connect Developer), you will oversee software development projects, write optimised code, and provide technical leadership to a team. You will be responsible for the quality and functionality of the software produced by your team, leveraging in-depth experience with integrated API management software, Agile methodologies, and modern development practices. Key Duties and Responsibilities Lead all phases of software development: analysis, design, prototyping, testing, and maintenance. Deliver high-quality solutions to complex problems, ensuring compliance with software development methodologies. Oversee release activities and provide production support, including solution realisation and maintenance. Share knowledge, mentor junior staff, and drive continuous improvement in processes and outcomes. Supervise team operations: manage priorities, resources, and performance. Engage stakeholders to build service delivery capability, influence ICT strategies, and resolve issues. Prepare technical and corporate documentation, provide specialist advice to senior executives, and report on quality, risks, and outcomes. Manage change, foster innovation, and uphold delegation in line with legislation and guidelines. Preferred Skills and Experience Experience working within an Agile environment and multi-disciplinary teams (MDTs). Extensive experience in integrated API management software. Experience with IBM API Connect. Strong background with API testing tools (e.g., Insomnia, Bruno) and version control systems (e.g., Git). Selection Criteria Emerging Technology Monitoring (SFIA Level 5) Methods and Tools (SFIA Level 5) Programming/Software Development (SFIA Level 5) Release and Deployment (SFIA Level 5) Software Configuration (SFIA Level 5) Software Design (SFIA Level 4) Systems Integration and Build (SFIA Level 5) Shortlisted applicants will be required to submit a one-page pitch (up to 5000 characters) addressing the criteria listed above. The one-page pitch should demonstrate how your experience and skills address the requirements, focusing on the most relevant aspects of your background. Grid Talent's technical team will provide more details on the selection criteria for shortlisted applicants. Contract Duration: 12 months + Up to a maximum of 24 months Candidate is expected to be in the office for first 6 weeks before a flexible working arrangement will be considered, usually a minimum of 3 days/week onsite. One or more Reduced Activity Periods (RAP) may be implemented. Candidates will not be required to undertake work for the agency during a RAP.
