Senior Lecturer, Rural and Remote Health Senior Lecturer, Rural and Remote Health Apply locations O'Keefe House, Katherine District Hospital Time type: Part time Posted on: Posted 4 Days Ago Job requisition id: JR0000012963 Position Details Two-year contract | Part-time Academic Level C | $134,362 - $154,558 pa plus 17% superannuation Location: Katherine / Jawoyn, Dagoman and Wardaman Country About the Role The Senior Lecturer in Rural and Remote Health will make a significant contribution and take on a leadership role in the delivery and teaching of the Doctor of Medicine topics and courses offered across the Northern Territory Medical Program (NTMP). They will draw on their significant experience and senior roles in clinical practice to develop strong industry partnerships, which will allow for high-quality placement opportunities for students. The Senior Lecturer will be responsible for the selection, supervision, teaching, and assessment of Years 3 and 4 NTMP students on placement in Katherine’s primary care setting. They will also play a lead role in the design, planning, and implementation of remote health experiences and remote medicine teaching and assessment across the four years of the NTMP, and provide academic development and mentoring of clinical supervisors. The Senior Lecturer will also have a key leadership role in service to the College and/or University. About You To be successful in this role you will exhibit: Doctorate in a relevant field or equivalent clinical experience and standing in Medicine, as well as current AHPRA registration (or eligible for registration). Hold and maintain a current membership with relevant medical or medical education-based professional bodies or societies. Evidence of an independent and innovative contribution to the development, delivery, and evaluation of innovative teaching and learning strategies both in the classroom and in clinical education, including student assessment. Significant and sustained excellence in teaching performance at a tertiary level, inclusive of a relevant simulation or clinical setting. Demonstrated understanding of the national political, workforce, educational, and research issues surrounding rural and remote practice and Aboriginal health, and the issues affecting the training and retention of general practitioners.
