Senior Manager Compliance, Broking & Markets and CommSec Capital Markets See yourself in our team CommSec Compliance is an established Line 2 Regulatory Compliance team, dedicated to the provision of proactive, solution-based advice and support across CommSec, CBA’s online retail stockbroker. The CommSec Compliance team sits within the broader Risk and Compliance second line of defence (Line 2) function within CBA. The team provides Regulatory Compliance advisory support, driving consistent and sustainable implementation of the Compliance Management Framework (CMF) and related policies and standards across the Group, and ultimately ensures compliance with regulatory, conduct and licensing obligations. Reporting to the Executive Manager – Compliance, your role supports CommSec’s distribution and monitoring and quality assurance teams. Stakeholders are diverse and include but are not limited to: CommSec Customer Support, Designated Trading Representatives, Media and Content, Capital Markets, Quality Assurance and Market Surveillance. Every day is different. You’ll generally find yourself: Providing timely, pragmatic compliance advice and training to CommSec’s distribution and monitoring and quality assurance teams (i.e. Broking and Markets, CommSec Capital Markets, Monitoring and Quality Assurance); Partnering with the business to develop compliant-by-design solutions that address regulatory obligations, licensing requirements, group compliance policies and customer/community expectations; Reviewing and managing compliance issues and incidents, including performing Reportable Situation assessments and managing related regulatory interactions; Applying data analytics skills, judgement and a curious mindset to identify emerging or thematic areas of Compliance risk; Supporting the business in by reviewing new initiatives, including identifying relevant obligations and areas of compliance risk and recommending actions to ensure risks are appropriately mitigated; Maintaining current knowledge of industry and regulatory developments and providing insights and proactive advice on applicability to business processes and initiatives, including participation in business fora and regulatory change analysis; Helping to manage interactions with regulators or exchanges (e.g. ASIC, ASX, Cboe) What do successful candidates look like? We’re looking for: Line 2 Regulatory Compliance experience in banking or financial services (retail stockbroking experience desirable) or experience working at a regulator or a stock exchange; Strong familiarity with ASIC Market Integrity Rules. Familiarity with participant compliance obligations would be highly regarded; Sound reasoning, analytical and decision-making skills and ability to navigate ambiguity; Sound understanding of Australian retail equities, derivatives, margin lending and capital markets and retail and wholesale business and customers; A demonstrated self-starter with the ability to autonomously manage deliverables and competing priorities; A curious and open mindset, willingness to learn and adapt to changing circumstances; Excellent interpersonal skills and effective communication an ability to communicate effectively and interact/advise in verbal/written communications at all stakeholder levels; A role model for the CBA values: Care, Courage and Commitment.
